There are hard problems to solve on the run-up to the first Transformationist governments and hard problems to address during the Transformation that cannot wait.
But this isn’t some kind of naive Utopian dream. There will always be problems because the Universe, including its dear humans, is a novelty machine. But to ignore the problems we have and hope they just go away is insanity. When you have problem – you deal with it. Every idiot knows that.
It’s as plain as day that the LRPS is intellectually bankrupt in the face of the polycrisis, not to mention bereft of leadership skills.
Transformationism offers a clear, purposeful and ethical way forward that includes everyone.
Consent
Few ordinary people enjoy the current LRPS, but change is scary. We need fully informed democratic (not manufactured) consent to move forward.
Model
Everything hinges on the creation of a new economic model that can fully replace social capitalism without threatening what little prosperity ordinary people have achieved.
Plan
A transparent plan will be needed to avoid panic, and prevent elites from derailing the Transformation through mass punishment.
Policy
We need to know what it will take to begin working toward fulfillment of the Universals: the core policy commitments of Transformationism.
Energy
We need a strategy to immediately draw back fossil fuels: we need a plan from energy experts on how to quickly transform to global clean energy.
Plastic
Plastic is swallowing life. We need to create a circular economy to stop the things we love from destroying the biosphere.
Farming
Industrial farming needs cleaned – it’s filthy and destructive. There’s simply no point in feeding humanity if we destroy the biosphere in the process.
Water
The Earth’s waterways are in crisis. Pollution, climate change and exploitation are destroying and depleting our water sources.
Health
We need to rapidly create a globally accessible health care system and bring mental health into the fold.
Violence
Human history is the history of violence. All violence, but especially violence against women, children and the otherwise vulnerable must end.
Learning
We need a global education strategy to make sure the next generation of humans is ready to take on the hard problems that us and our ancestors have created for them.
Clothing
When did we decide to clothe ourselves in non-biodegradable plastic? Why are women and children exploited in sweatshops? We need solutions – fast.

The Hard Problems Guide is being created to help everyone work together on solving the hard problems.
Different problems need different expertise and have various stakeholders who’s work interconnects and overlaps. But all of us, no matter our skill level or expertise, have a role to play in the Transformation.
Work on the Hard Problems will be organized by intuitive, overlapping and interlocking Circles of Activity.
After elections and during the Transformation, government and economic activity will be organized according to these Circles – ensuring an even transition to the new economics.
All over the world, people are already working on the Hard Problems. But they’re often working alone, in silos and without adequate government support.
