Conservatism, racism, poverty, under-resourced communities, schools and mental health circles, capitalist exploitation and dehumanization… all contribute to the failure and global distrust of policing.
Policing doesn’t have to be violent, racist or fascist. But it’s always been like that because society has always been impoverished, conservative, racist, patriarchal and elitist.
I know there are good people in policing and many just want to do good. Personally I have seen police do both good and bad things. But the overall trend is undeniable. Under capitalism and socialism, policing continuously fails.
We all want to believe in the fairy tale image of heroic cops and detectives presented to us in stories: good people working hard and risking their lives to stop the bad guys. Help them to help you. Help the police by ending capitalism and ushering in a new era of universal well being and prosperity.
Policing fails to provide safety for millions of women, children and other vulnerable people. It fails to deal with the chronic drug trade, which itself is a capitalist enterprise that flourishes precisely because of the failure of capitalism to create prosperity and nurture mental and community health.
Policing and capitalism, together, have failed to deal with global, capitalist chronic abuse of financial tools for money laundering and tax evasion.
The people that suffer the most are the poor and vulnerable (not to mention the cops themselves). Wealthy capitalists and their political stooges, hiding in their gated mansions or behind their secutiry teams, don’t give a fuck about you or your children’s well being. That’s why they build cheap-shit prisons and allow society to be flooded with drugs and guns.
Wake up and smell the coffee and donuts. If you want peace and security, you need Transformationism.
