The Animal Circle governs all human activity around animals, including farm animals, pets, zoo animals and wild animals. This includes all conscious creatures from nematodes to orangutans.
As humans grow in moral goodness, we extend our circles of care and responsibility to all of animal life.
If we can produce meat and dairy products artificially and thereby end the suffering of farm animals, we ought to move in that direction.
If for no other reason than that it’s in our own best interests, we must protect wildlands where animals can flourish and re-wild much of what has been lost.
Alarming numbers of species going extinct, bird’s guts full of plastic, disgusting farming practices… these should be enough for any moral person to agree that our relationship with animals since the advent of industrial society has taken a dark turn and must be restored.
I believe lab grown meat will soon be even better than natural meat and, together with the clean energy and clean industry Transformation, we’re on the precipice of a new moral era in human-animal relations.
Needless to say, conservatives and capitalists are holding us back. Don’t let them. Embrace the Transformation. Embrace the call to goodness.
