There’s literally zero justification for exploiting women and children in clothing sweatshops.
Nor should we be polluting the Earth to produce our clothes or forcing people to work inhumane hours in toxic and dangerous buildings.
We can have quality clothing produced responsibly. We can reward clothing workers. But not under capitalism. That much is clear.
I love clothes and I know you do too. I love the incredible diversity of colours and styles. I love the creativity, artistry, craft and novelty of fashion. I love ancient clothing traditions.
Capitalism degrades our relationship with clothes.
Transformationism will restore economic, cultural and environmental dignity to clothing production – for everyone.
