When we all work, we should all prosper.
In any world or any society where resources and intelligence are abundant and almost everyone works but only a minority prosper, the economic system of that world or society is a dysfunctional failure.
A world where most suffer and struggle while a minority are obscenely privileged is an unjust world.
A world where resources are abundant yet the environment is irresponsibly pillaged, poisoned, polluted and degraded and still the majority fail to thrive is a fucked up, mad world.
That’s our world, and it’s fucked up because of the capitalism that every one of our world’s idiots endorses every time they go to the polls.
Capitalism is the broke down engine that has been driving us around in circles of ever-deepening enshittification for hundreds of years.
WAKE UP!
The first step of any recovery is to admit to yourself and to others that you have a problem. And your problem is your failure to see capitalism for what it is: a system of coercion, exploitation and privilege that doesn’t deserve your respect let alone your consent or participation.
Understand Healthy Community
Human beings are communal, social, and cultural. All healthy communities, human or otherwise, are supported by the good work of their members, in return for which members derive the benefits that only a healthy community can offer. Even you, with your head stuffed full of capitalist verbiage, should be able to grasp this even if just for as long as it takes to read this page.
Think about it, mate. Some people make the clothes, some get the water, some make the bowls, some get the meat, some grow the potatoes, some build the structures, some make the boats, some make the arrows. The community offers nourishment, refreshment, entertainment, warmth, comfort, resources, materials and tools, security and strength in numbers, knowledge, protection from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, competitive advantage, and a solid foothold in a slippery and ever-changing world. It’s a fucking no-brainer.
Anyone who commits the time of their life to providing goods for their community deserves a fair share of the goods the community as a whole creates. That’s how healthy communities survive and thrive. This is plain common sense.
Capitalism Never Worked
The state of human life today—ill health, destitution, addiction, debt, housing insecurity, job insecurity, meaningless work, shit products and services, hostile and viscous competition, the general degradation of humanity alongside an insanely and obscenely wealthy minority—is a clear and indisputable sign that the system we use to produce and distribute goods, the rewards of community, doesn’t work, and never worked.
From birth and throughout life we are called to community. We answer with our work, creativity, ingenuity, passion, determination, honesty, and commitment.
Capitalism subverts our labour, our integrity, our values, our creativity, our morality and even our language into the service of private gain. It cons us. It coerces us. It humiliates us. It subjugates is. While private individuals extort the value of our labour, our communities are left to rot, and us with them.
Don’t tolerate it. The first step to recovery is to acknowledge the problem, and the problem is capitalism. Don’t endorse capitalist political parties with your vote. Don’t endorse social capitalists with your vote. Don’t endorse communists with your vote. Don’t endorse authoritarians with your vote.
Let’s Talk About It
Talk about Transformation. Talk about the possibilities of a new era of human prosperity. Talk about the profound benefits of a clean and healthy natural world. Talk about universal homefulness. Talk about universal health care. Talk about universal nutritious food. Talk about universal education. Talk about ending debt. Talk about ending taxation. Talk about ending obscene privilege. Talk about ending child labour and slavery. Talk about ending racism. Talk about ending sexism. Talk about ending capitalism.
Talk about prosperity.
